Crimewatch: Thieves steal plants from homes

PLANTS have been stolen from the front yards of four houses in Redland Bay.

Three houses in Malcomia Street and one house in nearby Kalmia Drive had plants ripped from the ground between 9pm on Monday, November 12, and 5am on Tuesday, November 13.

The previous week, plants were stolen from 12 houses in Aquila Street and one house in Denham Boulevard.

Police believe the thieves were driving a ute or car with a trailer.

Alexandra Hills

* Cash was stolen from a safe in the back room of a shop in Alexandra Hills Shopping Centre between 3.45pm and 4.30pm on Wednesday, November 14.

* Cash was stolen from the cash register of another shop in Alexandra Hills Shopping Centre between 5pm and 5.15pm on Wednesday, November 14.

* The passenger side window of a black Mazda in the Alexandra Hills Hotel carpark was smashed between 10pm and 11pm on Saturday, November 17.

* A breeding kennel in McDonald Road was broken into between 7.30am and 11.30am on Sunday, November 18. Dogs were let out and property was stolen from a shed.

Birkdale

* Vandals smashed the window of a Mitsubishi Lancer coupe parked at Birkdale railway station between 3.10pm on Sunday, November 18, and 10am on Monday, November 19.

Cleveland

* A house in Raby Bay Boulevard was broken into between midnight and 1.30am on Sunday, November 18. There was also an attempted break-in at another house in the street between 1.15am and 1.45am.

Macleay Island

* Vandals smashed the window of a house in Noondoo Street between 9.30pm on Friday, November 16, and 6.30am on Saturday, November 17.

Mount Cotton

* An electric outboard motor was stolen from a boat parked in the backyard of a house in Petunia Crescent between 5pm on Saturday, November 17, and 9am on Sunday, November 18.

Redland Bay

* Tools were stolen from a building site in Salisbury Street between 4pm on Monday, November 12, and 6am on Tuesday, November 13.

* There was an attempted break-in at a house in Dart Street between 5pm Monday, November 12, and 8am Tuesday, November 13. There was an attempt to jemmy the back door.

* There was an attempted break-in at a house in James Street between 5.45pm Wednesday, November 14, and 5am Thursday, November 15.

* A house in Azure Circuit was broken into between 6.30pm and 8pm on Friday, November 16. Jewellery and a laptop were stolen.

* A house in Meredith Place was broken into between noon and 9pm on Saturday, November 17.

Thorneside

* Timber Depot in Railway Parade was broken into between 4pm on Friday, November 16, and 5am on Saturday, November 17.

* A Mitsubishi truck and a Hino truck parked in the yard were broken into and the electronics were removed. Another truck was damaged.

Thornlands

* A rock was thrown through the driver’s side window of a car driving along Osprey Drive at 3.30pm on Tuesday, November 20.

Victoria Point

* Four houses in Sharr Street were broken into between 7.30pm on Wednesday, November 14, and 7am on Thursday, November 15. At the fourth house, a resident caught a male in the house at 4am and chased him away.

* A house in Elysian Street was broken into between 2.50pm and 8.45pm on Thursday, November 15. Jewellery and crystal ornaments were stolen.

* A house in Brookvale Drive was broken into between 5.15pm and 9.15pm on Friday, November 16. A safe containing jewellery, a camera and cash was stolen.

Wellington Point

* A property in Sheena Street was broken into between 9pm on Friday, November 9, and 6.30pm on Thursday, November 15. Tools were stolen from a garden shed.

* There was an attempted break-in at Point of View Café at Wellington Point Reserve between 7pm on Thursday, November 15, and 7.15am on Friday, November 16.
