Bombers bound for finals

29/08/2008 4:00:00 AM
THE Baby Bombers - Alexandra Hills AFL Club's under 12A team - will play Kedron in the semi-finals after finishing the season as Minor Premiers in their Division 2 age group.

The Bombers played 16 games during the rounds, winning 13 with one draw.

"The team shows a great deal of commitment for a young side. Keeping them focused on the basics will help them to achieve their ultimate goal, their first opportunity to win a Premiership," coach Glen Smith said.

In line with the rules governing junior development, teams do not compete for a premiership until they reach Under 12 level.

This is seen as a way of reinforcing positive junior development to allow for each player to reach their potential.

Bombers play their semi-final against Kedron, the team they drew with only a few weeks ago, at home at Keith Surridge Park, Windemere Road, Alexandra Hills on Saturday, August 30, kickoff at 9.15am.

Bombers Under 16B team are also into the semis of their age group and play at home on Saturday, August 30, kickoff at 2.30pm.
